Principal's Desk

A diploma should open the door to real work. Our task is to make sure every student who leaves this campus is ready to walk through it.
Abdul Khader, Principal

Dear students, parents and well-wishers,

Welcome to Government Polytechnic College, Perinthalmanna. Since 1961, this institution has offered quality technical education under the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Kerala. Generations of students have come here to learn a profession, and many have gone on to serve industry and society with skill and integrity. We are proud of that record, and we know it has to be earned again by every new batch.

Today we offer three-year diploma programmes in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, and Electronics Engineering. Technology changes quickly, but the foundation of a good technician does not: a firm grasp of the fundamentals, confidence in the workshop and laboratory, and the discipline to do careful work. We keep that foundation at the centre of everything we teach.

The college has worked steadily to strengthen its academic and administrative performance, through active academic committees, prompt use of government funds, better infrastructure and facilities, and activities that lift the performance of students and staff alike. I am grateful to our faculty and staff, whose commitment makes this possible.

We also want our students to meet the working world before they graduate. Our Career Guidance and Placement Cell prepares them for recruitment, the sixth-semester internship pathway gives them a full semester inside industry, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Club encourages those who would rather build something of their own.

Good engineers must also be good citizens. Through the National Service Scheme and campus life, we encourage students to serve the community and to grow in character, responsibility and respect for others.

To our students: use every laboratory, every teacher and every opportunity here. Ask questions, and do not be afraid of failing at something new. To parents: thank you for placing your trust in us, and please stay involved in your child's progress. To our alumni and friends in industry: this college remains your home, and we welcome your partnership.

My office is always open to anyone who wishes to help this institution grow.
